Inclusive. Empowering. Rider-Focused.

To get the most out of HELLA RIDER

make sure you meet these key requirements.

Know how to ride a bicycle.

Balance is key to learning to ride a motorcycle. If it’s been a while, take time to get comfortable cycling again.

Understand manual shifting.

Motorcycles are manual-shift. No prior experience is required, but if you’ve driven a manual car, it may help.

Have a BC Motorcycle Learner’s Licence.

This is mandatory. You’ll need to show it at every session—no exceptions.

Riding gear is not needed for the first two days (which are classroom-based), but feel free to bring it if you have questions about fit or safety standards.

We also recommend reading Learn to Ride Smart, the ICBC motorcycle manual, before your first class. It’s free online or available in print from any ICBC licensing office.
